Описание Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation (NMIC)'s Young Adult Internship Program (YAIP) is a youth centered program providing work readiness experience for cohorts of 30 disconnected young adults ages 17-24. Our goal is to train program participants to be ready for the workforce through a two week orientation, twelve week internship, and weekly educational workshops. After orientation, participants will be placed in to paid internships that are intended to teach them the skills they need to begin their desired careers and reinforce job readiness skills. Following internship, participants will receive academic and career counseling and assistance in finding employment, getting back in to school, or finding a vocational training to help them take the next steps towards independence.
